About Us
 The Past
In 1893, as Minnesota expanded, a major need for fresh ground water developed. Thus, Thein Well was founded by Eugene Thein to provide house, farm and community wells in Minnesota.
The Present
With appreciation of their many dedicated employees, Thein Well has continued to expand for over 100 years. Now in its fourth generation of Thein family involvement, Thein Well continues to provide services throughout the six-state North Central region of the United States from six locations. And we're still growing!
The Future
Thein Well, known for leadership and innovation in the drilling industry, has an objective in the years ahead to continue to be in the forefront of state-of-the-art technology and techniques.
Pioneers and Innovators
Thein Well continually strives to give its customers the best products and services at a reasonable cost. Thein has constantly improved its operating efficiency through innovation and advanced technology as demonstrated by the following examples:
- In the early 1900's, pioneered construction of large diameter wells by means of percussion drilling.
- In the 1960's, pioneered down-the-hole high-pressure air hammer drilling, thereby providing quick and efficient completion of wells in creviced rock formations.
- In the 1970's, became a pioneer company in its North Central operating region by utilizing television monitoring of wells to analyze and solve problems accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
- In the 1980's, developed and patented a procedure to improve the efficiency and to reduce or eliminate sand pumping problems in consolidated formation wells.

- In the 1980’s, with the advent of environmental concerns with groundwater contamination, Thein Well became involved in environmental drilling.
